Ingredients
4 unsliced loaf of bread (preferably sourdough)
1/2 cup butter, melted
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
-
Using a sharp serrated knife, cut the bread diagonally in both directions to form a checkerboard pattern, but do not cut through the bottom crust.
-
In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, garlic, salt, pepper, and parsley.
-
Use a pastry brush to brush the garlic butter mixture inside all the cuts in the bread.
-
Stuff the shredded cheese between the cuts, distributing it as evenly as possible.
-
Wrap the bread in foil and place it on a baking sheet.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
-
Open up the foil and bake the bread for an additional 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the bread is crisp.
-
Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
-
Let the bread cool for a few minutes and serve immediately.
