Ingredients
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups vegetable or chicken broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
salt and pepper to taste

In a large skillet, melt the butter oven medium heat.

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté for 5-7 minutes, until they are browned and tender.

Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine.

Cook the mushroom and flour mixture for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture turns golden brown.

Slowly pour the broth into the skillet, whisking constantly, until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.

Bring the gravy to a simmer and let it cook for 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens.

Stir in the heavy cream and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the gravy is heated through.
