Ingredients
5 cups peaches, pitted and chopped
3 cups granulated sugar
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
Optional Ingredients
1 tablespoon pectin
Directions
-
In a large saucepan, combine your peaches, sugar, and fresh lemon juice.
-
Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for about 25 to 30 minutes or until the peaches start to break down and the mixture thickens.
-
If you want a firmer jam, add 1 tablespoon of pectin to the mixture and stir until well combined.
-
Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
-
Once the mixture has cooled, pour it into sterilized glass jars and let it cool to room temperature.
-
Store the jam in the refrigerator for up to 2 months or freeze it for longer storage.
-
Enjoy this fruity jam on toast, biscuits, or as a topping for yogurt or ice cream.
-
Note: Adjust the amount of sugar depending on the sweetness of your peaches. You can also add spices like cinnamon or ginger for extra flavor.
