Chili Crisp Compound Butter
Looking to try your hand at a homemade butter this Thanksgiving? Bring a little heat to the table with this Chili Crisp Compound Butter. Spicy, rich, and incredibly versatile, it elevates everything from warm bread and roasted veggies to turkey and chicken. Make a batch ahead of the holiday, keep it chilled, and serve with ease.
Ingredients:
½ cup softened salted butter (1 stick)
2 to 3 tablespoons chili crisp
1 lemon
Directions:
In a small bowl, add the softened, room-temperature butter, your desired amount of chili crisp, and the zest of 1 lemon (about 1 teaspoon).
Using a flexible spatula, mix all of the ingredients until well combined.
Put a sheet of plastic wrap over a small container. Transfer the compound butter over the plastic and tightly cover. Refrigerate until firm, for around 1 hour or longer.
When ready, use a knife to slice a chunk for serving. You can also use a peeler to shave paper-thin slices as needed.
