Ingredients
1 sheet of puff pastry
2 large apples
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
Powdered sugar for dusting
Directions
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
-
Cut the sheet of puff pastry into 6 equal strips.
-
Wash the apples and cut them in half. Remove the core and slice the apples very thinly.
-
In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
-
Brush the melted butter onto the puff pastry strips.
-
Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture onto the puff pastry strips.
-
Arrange the apple slices so that the top half of each apple slice is above the top edge of each puff pastry piece.
-
Fold the puff pastry to enclose the apple slices and roll up each strip tightly from one end to the other, creating a rose shape.
-
Place the apple rose cakes into the prepared muffin tin.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown.
-
Remove them from the oven to cool for a few minutes.
-
Dust the apple rose cakes with powdered sugar before serving.
