Beef Stroganoff
This classic recipe is made even
better by slices of our delicious
USDA Choice Natural Top Sirloin.
Ingredients:
3 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
2 cups beef broth (available
in our grocery department)
1 tablespoon Djion mustard
1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/2 lbs Top Sirloin (halved lengthwise and
cut crosswise into 1/4 inch thick)
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to
season meat
1-2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 brown onion, cut in half and sliced thinly
3/4 lb cremini mushrooms
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 lb wide egg noodles, cook to package
directions
3 tablespoons diced green onions
3 tablespoons chopped Italian parsley
Preparation:
1. Heat sauté pan over medium heat, melt butter
add fl our and cook over low heat for 3 minutes
stirring constantly.
2. Using a wire whip, add beef broth slowly stirring
constantly until thickens, stir in mustard and sour
cream and heat until thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
Remove from heat and season with salt and pepper
if necessary.
3. Heat second sauté pan, add seasoned beef
and cook over high heat for 3-4 minutes or until
cooked. Remove meat with slotted spoon and set
aside.
4. In same pan as beef, adding more oil if
necessary, add onions, mushrooms and garlic and
cook over medium heat until tender, then add
cooked meat back to pan and heat through.
5. Divide hot cooked noodles amongst dinner
plates and top with beef and vegetable mixture.
Top with the sauce.
6. Garnish with green onions and parsley and serve
immediately. Enjoy!
